The Imperial Beach Girls Softball League was established in 1980 as a recreational fastpitch softball league for girls ages 4 through 16. In 1980, the Imperial Beach Girls Softball League was run and operated by the Imperial Beach Little League through a partnership with Bobby Sox Softball. In 1994, the Imperial Beach Girls Softball League separated from Bobby Sox Softball and the Imperial Beach Little League.
The league formed a new partnership with the Boys and Girls Club and the Amateur Softball Association (ASA), which was run by Jim Kotz. Imperial Beach Girls Softball was associated with the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) until 2016, when the USA Softball
League merged with ASA. Focusing on the USA Softball brand better reflects the legacy ASA/USA Softball has established over its 80 years as the leader in softball.
